PRODUCTION

How we do it

The principle is simple:

The disposable pallets are dismantled, the raw wood is levelled and glued together to create a robust piece of wood. Only harmless wood glue and a double mortise and tenon joint.

Source material: The disposable pallets arrive at Möbel Ehrmann with the delivered products - up to 500 per month.

TUTTO_Linedrawing-20

Storage: The pallets are stored in a dry place. Residual moisture disappears.

The pallets are disassembled and the individual boards are sorted into different thicknesses using templates. This makes further processing much easier.

Transporting materials to the factory: When dismantled, four times as many pallet boards fit into a transporter as in the form of whole pallets.

TUTTO_Linedrawing-23

The material is cut to size: Aligned to 70 mm wide and 15 mm thick boards, the standard dimensions of the pallet wood are utilised to the maximum. As the material has already been sorted, the machine settings do not need to be constantly adjusted.

Milling, gluing and assembling the parts: Only harmless wood glue is used, a double mortise and tenon joint and not a single screw.

The finish is applied with an ecological hard wax oil that is harmless to people, animals and the environment.

Euro pallets are not used for the production of tutto furniture. They are suitable for transporting tutto furniture during shipping.

In the production of tuttos, we focus on resource conservation, regionality and inclusion. Thanks to nearby workshops for people with disabilities and organisations for reintegration into the labour market in the Southern Palatinate, the disposable pallets travel less than 100 kilometres before they become tutto furniture.

Regional win

With the help of the Südpfalzwerkstatt, the pallets are dismantled directly in the logistics centre at Möbel Ehrmann and at AQA Neunkirchen, sorted by thickness and length and transported just a few dozen kilometres further to Heinrich Kimmle Manufaktur.

Socially sustainable production

The wood is carefully planed and processed into tutto furniture at Heinrich Kimmle Manufaktur, an inclusive company for people with disabilities. This is also where the final finishing, packaging and dispatch takes place.

Sophisticated system

A seemingly simple process has been optimised down to the last detail in order to be truly sustainable and economical. Minimised transport routes, a material-friendly design and innovative production keep the ecological footprint low. Pallet wood is not downcycled, but utilised as a valuable raw material for high-quality solid wood furniture.
